Second Arctic Science Ministerial (ASM2)

The Arctic Observing Summit (AOS), European Commission and Sustaining Arctic Observing Networks are the hosts for a side event on October 24th, 2018 at the 2nd Arctic Science Ministerial in Berlin, Germany. The title of the meeting is: "Towards a roadmap for coordinated Arctic Observing."

This side event is a follow up to the Arctic Observing Summit held earlier this year in Davos, Switzerland (June 24-26, 2018). The theme for the AOS was ''Making a Business Case for a Pan-Arctic Observing System."

The first session of the meeting on October 24th, 2018 will demonstrate the value of Arctic observations, linking these to relevant Societal Benefit Areas. The meeting's second session will show how Arctic long-term observing systems are linked to and support decision-making from local to global scales. Calls to action to the Arctic Science Ministerial will be formulated at the end of the meeting. A copy of the meeting's agenda can be accessed here.
